Andra Petridean joined MDS in 2020 after completing her Marketing, Advertising and PR degree. Andra is in her second MDS secondment, working with internet provider, Wessex Internet, as an Internal Projects Associate. Here’s how Andra has utilised the skills she developed on her degree to support Members and the wider industry.

What made you decide to study Marketing at university?

I chose to study marketing at university as it seemed the best option. Most importantly, it allowed me to utilise my creativity while tapping into my interest for strategic thinking, planning and organisation.

What made you decide to apply to the MDS graduate scheme?

There are two reasons why I chose to apply to MDS. Firstly I was interested in working in a fast-paced environment, secondly the uniqueness of the MDS programme and the opportunities available to Trainees attracted me.

How have you utilised the skills developed on your degree to support Member businesses and the wider industry?

The communication and time-management skills I developed on my degree have helped me in a range of roles. In addition, I am able to work both independently and within a team which has been useful in every role. By demonstrating these skills I am able to support Member businesses in reaching their goals. These skills have helped me to successfully adapt to a new team every six months as well as excel in a role that I previously knew nothing about.

Why is the food and fresh produce industry such a great career opportunity?

Food and fresh produce is one of the most important industries in the world. It offers incredible opportunities to people who are keen to learn and willing to be challenged. It is a great opportunity for those who are eager to implement positive changes that can have a considerable impact on everyday life.
